Lessons from a 5 year old.

Last Sunday Taede called us all into the Living Room to give us a little lesson. He had been preparing it over the course of the day and wanted us all to participate. First he directed all of us to different areas of the house to find the "treasures" that he had lovingly cut from one of his coloring books. After we collected the papers we had a little review on manners. We had to say "please" and "thank-you" when exchanging the papers. Then he had Truman and Talmage hide in the coat closet with the light off an he had me sit over by a lamp on the other side of the room. The little boys kept yelling "It's dark!" and Taede told us to say kind things and then unkind things....it was a little random....but to wrap it all up he explained that the dark is not where we want to be, the light is. The light is kindness and we need to always be kind. It was sweet.
This was his lesson plan. He referred to it throughout his conversations with us. It was so cute to see him mark things off as he was explaining who should do what and so on. He loves to direct things....I wonder where he gets that from?
