The 4th of July!

We had a really fun weekend! We decided to carry on with tradition (ha, ha...it's year number 2!) and head down to Plymouth for the 4th. There is something about being in this area when we celebrate Independence Day, we love it! We have been planning this for a couple of weeks and the boys have been so excited. We started the weekend on Friday morning by heading over to our town's little fair to celebrate the 4th. It was something fun and different.

Later that afternoon we headed down to Plymouth. We stopped at "the spot" we staked out last year and put our chairs up before we checked in to the hotel. Then we (when I say we I mean the boys) went swimming!!

The boys love to swim and were so looking forward to it. After swimming we changed our clothes, grabbed something to eat and headed over to the fireworks. We found a perfect parking spot and sat down at our previously designated spot. The weather was spectacular and we only waited around for the fireworks to start for about an hour.

We stayed for about 15 minutes of the fireworks and then Taede started rolling around in a blanket (totally disinterested), Talmage kept saying "please can we go back to the hotel", and Truman just kept yelling (who knows what?). So we decided to call it a night and head back to the hotel to watch a movie. We made it home alive (long story summarized: for all of you who know Talmage...he has a little bit of a temper...needless to say always make sure your children are buckled into their car seats securely before they start having a temper tantrum while you are driving. And yes, we do buckle our children into the car every time that it is moving.). Talmage is the sweetest little boy, he is also very stubborn and very determined! So, we get back to the hotel and unfortunately, Spencer's computer had crashed a couple of weeks prior and when he got it repaired they (the people who fixed it) completely cleared EVERYTHING off of it. So, Spence and I tried to figure out how to play the DVD for about an hour....and the boys fell fast asleep. We got up on Saturday morning the boys went swimming one more time and then we headed for the beach. It was in a cute little town called Duxbury. LOVE Duxbury. It was quaint and clean and perfect. The weather wasn't so great, 75 and overcast, but I thought it was a really great time to go. There weren't too many people there and the boys are usually most interested with playing in the sand, not the water, except for Tal. He loves the water.

The night before the 4th we had a BBQ at the park with our friends in Spence's program and their cute families. Our kids play so well together it is so much fun to get together with them.
